My thoughts on Mother’s Day

Though distance lies between us

You're not so far away,

Because I feel your presence

Every hour of every day.

I see your face in sun and moon,

In every April shower;

I see your soft hair stirring, dear,

In every wind-blown flower.

I hear your step, your sigh, your laugh,

When walking down the street;

I see your smile in every smile

Of passers-by I meet.

Just to know you is an honor,

Any king would proudly prize;

But when God made you my Mother

I glimpsed the depths of Paradise.
