Awake and Rejoice

Awake, O songbird, sing your song;

Christ, who suffered long — so long —

Arose this morning from the dead,

Triumphant, even as He said!

Ring out bells in exultation;

Sound your tintinnabulation!

Awake, O flowers, and greet the sun!

It dawns on God's begotten One.

Awake, you butterflies and bees;

Lift up your arms, you budding trees!

Sing praise, you choirs, this day of days!

All the earth resounds His praise!

Chant alleluias to the sky!

Rejoice you blessed ones on high!

He lives! He loves! O happy day!

Our Savior has opened up to us His way.

Sing and laugh and tell His story!

He lives forever now in glory!

Hosanna, sing with one accord;

Hosanna to our Risen Lord!
