A Prayer at bedtime

Jesus Lord, may I offer you

Everything I say and do —

 

The windows that I washed today;

The times I paused with you to pray

The rosary in which I had a part,

For Mary and your Sacred Heart.

Dear Lord, this nodding of my head,

Says I guess I'd better go to bed.

Good night Jesus. Take, please do,

These little things I give to you.

 

I hope tomorrow to do more —

We’ll see what it may have in store.

Mass again, the Host, the hope;

These holy things will help me cope

 

With pain, or accident, or sorrow

That may be mine upon the morrow.

I look deep down into your eyes,

Ah! Joy and rapture I realize.

 

So close to you as this to be

Is EVERTHING in life to me.

Dear Lord God, you are the most!

Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!

 

And now, back up to what I said,

It's time I'd better go to bed.
