"The Orange in the Toilet Caper"
A True Story
My son Mike, who has twin 8 year-old boys, Daniel and Colin, went into the bathroom
the boys use one afternoon and saw an orange in the toilet. He immediately called
for them to explain this strange occurrence. It was not unusual to expect that one
of them had something to do with the toilet's appearance.
Finally after several calls the boys arrived at the scene of the crime.
"Now," their father said, "who put the orange in the toilet"
The boys looked, quizzically, down into the toilet and said nothing.
"Come on now, their father said, "one of you boys put an orange in the toilet!
Still no answer or confession was forthcoming. Their father stared at them, looking
for an answer.
Finally, Daniel answered. "Dad, I think I might know how that happened."
"OK, Daniel," his father said, "what do you think happened?"
Daniel, with a straight face, answered. "Well Dad, I think, someone down the
street put an orange in a toilet and when they flushed the toilet it came up here."
